The organizers from the Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center and the Bing Center for Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia, Boston, Massachusetts, United States, wish to cordially invite you to participate at the 7th International Physician’s Workshop on Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia (IWWM-7) in Newport, Rhode Island, United States, on August 23-26, 2012.
For many years, this biannual, unconventional Workshop has educated and developed systematic understanding and formed ever-lasting scientific research collaborations for many global medical Institutes, Centers, and Universities; becoming the most recognized Workshop on the latest advancements in Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia, and related disorders as have also the number of WM related publications including those arising from the IWWM which have been published in Blood, Clinical Lymphoma Myeloma, Haematologica, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Seminars in Oncology.
During this 4-day meeting, we aim to provide a compelling program highlighting emerging advances in our understanding of the biology and treatment of Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia. The most relevant and recent evidence-based data on treatments and research of Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia and crafted specialized symposia on Multiple myeloma, Amyloidosis, and Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma will be edified. We will explore many of the same topics as in the past six (6) IWWM meetings; genomic and genetic exploration, prognostic and predictive factors, and direction in treatments are to name a few. However, in order to encourage audience participation and interaction, we have fashioned additional unique sessions:
-
Treatment Challenge debates to discuss controversies in the treatment of Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia.
-
Young Investigator presentations which will encourage future direction and ideas into the knowledge of Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia.
-
Meet the Professor, which will break up into informal discussion groups.
The location of the Workshop, in Newport, Rhode Island, United States, will ensure that you enjoy both the Workshop and the charming city in 2012.
